Background

Taasisi Savings and Credit Co-operatives Society Ltd was registered on 2nd August 1983 to facilitate and improve the welfare of Kenya Institute of Education(KIE) Staff currently  Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development(K.I.C.D).  The main purpose was to give its members an opportunity to accumulate savings and deposits. This would provide them with credit facilities at fair and reasonable interest rates. Currently, Taasisi Sacco has opened its membership to the public.

The operations of the Sacco are conducted by the secretariat headed by the Manager. The board is responsible for the formulation and review of the Sacco policies and guidelines.. The board also approves the loans before they are disbursed.

The society is governed by 9 elected board members and 3 members of the supervisory board.

The Society’s main aim is to promote the economic interests of members by encouraging thrift through the mobilization of deposits, savings and investments. Taasisi SACCO is one of the well recognized Saccos in Nairobi. The SACCO draws technical and financial support from recognized institutions such as the County Government, Co-operative Bank of Kenya, KUSCCO Limited, CIC, NACHU, Top Edge Consultants, Synergy Financial Advisory and CODIC among others.

Eligibility of Members

Membership to the Society is open to all employees of governmental/non-governmental organizations, Private sector, public entities and individuals who meet the following criteria:-

  1. Above eighteen (18) years of age
  2. Good character and sound mind.
  3. Not a member of any other registered SACCO Society.

Procedure of Joining

For a person to be admitted to the Society, he/she must complete a membership application form and pay a non-refundable registration fee of Kshs.1,000/=.
He/she shall also be required to provide the following;

  • Dully filled membership application forms 
  • Member application letter to he chair
  • Copy of KRA pin
  • 2 passport size photographs
  • Copy of national identification card
  • Introduction letter from Taasisi Sacco member
